Ashwagandha also known as Withania helps balance ones nervous system if they are over stimulated or simply run down. Chamomile is a herb the calms the nervous system, also aids in sleep. Passionflower similar to chamomile will help you relax and aid in sleep. Rehmania is a good herb for adrenals, indicated when run down and cortisol levels are high (stress hormone) will aid in reducing it. Finally Melissa (Lemon Balm) in small double blind Randomised control trial (RCT) found Melissa to reduce stress. In combination Melissa has been studies for it’s effects on acute anxiety, while there shows potential for further research, results are inconclusive (Braun & Cohen, 2010, p. 647)
